|
|
Todd Essig and Mark Harris from Nashville have offered to mentor Nashville folks during this members-only mock race.
The event is free to members (non-members can purchase a membership the day of the event), will be as well run as any "formal race" you will do this year, and is a great way to shake off the winter cob webs and work on fitness and nav.
And Todd and Mark are top notch guys and top notch racers. You will learn a LOT, while out in the woods with some fun and easy-going guys. Too much fun.
Contact Todd by email if interested in receiving mentoring during the training. His email: todd.essig@gmail.com
MORE INFO ABOUT THE TRAINING:
We will return to the bike/hike format for this edition. Expect at least 10-miles of trekking and 25-miles of biking with navigating throughout. Check-in at the Ranger Station for your park map, parking and biking permits. Then, report to the HQ (location tbd) for your workout instructions. As this is Valentine's Day, plan on making it a special occasion with your spouse or friends and teammates. We also plan on having mentors for the inexperienced to team up with. More information and directions to the park: http://www.gastateparks.org/net/go/parks.aspx?LocationID=42&s=0.0.1.5

It would be a great way to jump in with both feet! |

Missy,
I'll send out an email to everyone who gave me their addresses last week, see if anyone else wants to take advantage of this opportunity. Todd and Mark are great guys, and you would learn a ton. |

Thanks for your help, Karin.
We'll make sure your trip is well worth the time with one course that's doable for all and another that'll challenge the more experienced teams, too! If in doubt, let Kelly know that you'd like to go out with a mentor team and we'll get you hooked up.

I'm interested Missy but may have a conflict with the date. I'm going to see what I can work out.
Sounds like an awesome opportunity that I sure would hate to miss!
Didn't I read somewhere that you could do either the bike or orienteering or both if you choose?
Thanks! |
